Power Bank : Batteries on the go!

Power Bank: Batteries on the go! If you are like me you are one of those people who are always on their phones and mobile devices. Personally, I would be lost (Literally lost I have a bad sense of direction) without my phone. So what happens when you run out of power?

Depending on how you use your phone you can drain your phone battery very quickly. This is where having a power bank comes in handy. But what kind of power bank should you get?

How much do you need?

The first thing you should do when picking a power bank is get an idea of how long your phone lasts during the day. Do you need to charge it often? Or are you away from a power point for too long?

Once you have an idea of how often you charge your phone take a look at the specifications of your phone (All are found online). The phone will have a rating of how much change its battery will hold. (Assuming your iPhone does not need to have the Battery Replaced)

For example, the iPhone 11 will have a Battery rating of 3110 mAh

This means that you should consider getting a portable battery that has a little more than that rating. While it will not hurt to have a lower rating as it will charge the phone it would not charge it up all the way to 100%.

The best way to look at it is the more mAh the more power you have in your pocket.

Batteries have weight

While they are not made of lead any more Litham-ion batteries do have a bit of weight. While at first, you may think a battery by itself does not weigh much ..but adds up.

I had purchased a portable power bank that was 20,000. Combined with my Macbook, Headphones, cables, and a water bottle (The water bottle was not kept inside the bag to prevent leaks) My work bag was considerably heavy when I took it on the train to Sydney.

So when picking a power bank think about do you really need to have a battery that can charge your phone three times.
