Who can resist the allure of video games? My journey as a PC gamer began in the era of beige-colored computers, starting with “Dungeon Master” in 1988. I was hooked, playing it to completion. My gaming adventures led me through classics like “Warcraft II,” “Sid Meier’s Civilization,” and “Master of Orion.” But it was the innovative titles from Bullfrog and Lionhead Studios that captured my heart the most.
So, what’s on my gaming agenda these days?
Enter the World of Mobile Gaming
These days, I find myself gravitating towards mobile gaming. This shift is more about the convenience of portability than anything else. True, it’s not traditional PC gaming, but gaming on an iPhone is a fantastic option for entertainment on the go, like during bus rides.
Diving into “Ark: Survival”
“Ark: Survival” is a stark reminder that I need to complete my gaming PC build. While the mobile version holds its own, it pales in comparison to the desktop experience, which is simply superior. But, until my PC setup is complete, the mobile version will have to suffice.
What Captivates Me
- The Open World
- The vast, perilous landscapes in “Ark: Survival” are thrilling. I’ve jumped out of my skin more than once when a raptor appeared out of nowhere!
- An Enthusiast’s Dream: Crafting Galore
- The crafting aspect of the game is incredibly engaging, offering endless opportunities to create and build.
- The Dinosaur Factor
- It’s dinosaurs! Who doesn’t get excited about roaming among these prehistoric giants?
The Downsides
- Restrictions in the Mobile Version
- Unfortunately, the mobile iteration comes with its limitations, particularly in the variety of creatures and crafting options available.
- Limited Control Over Creatures
- Unlike the PC version, the mobile game restricts how you can command the creatures, which dampens the experience somewhat.
Overall Ark is one of those games where I will play for months at a time then put it down just to come back and play some more. The open world has my always searching for new places to explore. It is challenging enough to keep me from getting bored.
Little Big Robots
This is the current obsession on my Phone. Big Little robots is a team based battle with tiny mechs. The controls took me a little bit to get used to but it is a lot of fun once you get used to it.
What I like
- Deadly battles with crazy weapons
- Lots of upgrades
- Customise the robots
- Capture the flag
What I don’t like
- Matching other players needs to find ways of better balance.
- Changed the rules often
- In App purchases a bit much. and someone willing to drop extra cash can make the game unplayable for those like me who don’t spend cash on mobile games.
That said they do take feedback and I have submitted a few reports. The current version you can only use each of the robots in your stable once per game. The makes the Capture the flag and crystal rush pointless as it turns the game into just a gun fight. Hopefully in a new version they will fix that.
What is on my Mac
While some of you do not think that a Mac is much of a gaming system I agree however that dose not mean that there are no games on a Mac. A lot of the popular games have Mac versions. And it looks like Apple has figured out that a good chunk of their income comes from mobile games.
Battle for Wesnoth
This is a turn based strategy game that my wife and I adore. We have been playing this game for years and we seldom win. Tis game is cross platform and works on any operating system that you can think of . The best part is other than the moble versions the game is free.
I am not going to write a good and bad about this game as I only see good. This is a game that has been receiving continues updates for years and just gets better and better.
What will be on my Gaming ing PC once it is done ?
While I do sill things that poor all my money back int the buisness I have to wait to build my own gaming PC. However I do have plans to start building once the business starts pulling in enough money to earn a paycheck I was start saving up because there are some games I want to play.
Ark Survival Ascended
I’m not going to go too much into the game as all I have is the website but it looks amazing
