Thursday nights at LithGeek (85 Main Street Lithgow) are all about one thing: bringing people together for Warhammer 40k and Warhammer 40,000 in a relaxed, friendly space where it’s totally normal to spend an evening arguing (politely) about dice rolls, admiring someone’s freshly painted minis, and learning why little plastic soldiers can be the best stress relief you’ll find all week. Whether you’re a brand-new player who’s never touched a tape measure, a returning hobbyist who last played “back when it was all metal and fear,” or an experienced general chasing regular games, you’re welcome at our Thursday night sessions.

Play Warhammer Thursday nights

The best part is that Thursday nights aren’t “just” game nights. They’re community nights. Some people come in ready to play full matches and test their latest list ideas. Others rock up with a carry case and a plan to get a few hours of painting and building done while chatting hobby tips with the group. And plenty of folks come along simply to watch and learn—because Warhammer looks incredible on the table, and seeing it in action is often what finally makes the hobby click. If you’re curious but not sure where to start, you can absolutely drop in for a look, ask questions, and get a feel for it without any pressure.

We’re also genuinely welcoming to new players. Not “welcome” as in a quick hello and then you’re left to drown in rules—welcome as in people will actually help you learn the basics, explain what’s happening during a turn, and give you practical advice about how units work together on the table. Painting advice is the same: if you’ve ever worried about messing up a mini, you’re in the right place. Mistakes are part of learning, practice is how everyone improves, and the only real hobby sin is giving up on a model you could come back to later. Everyone starts somewhere, and Thursday nights are a great way to keep that motivation rolling.

And yes, we do have items in stock—the essentials you need to get started and keep going. If there’s ever something you’re chasing that isn’t on the shelf, we can order it in, so you’re not stuck waiting forever or hunting all over the internet. If you’re travelling from Bathurst, Katoomba, Leura, Oberon, Portland, Dubbo, Zigzag, Bilpin, Blackheath, or even the faraway lands of Mellow Bath, Thursday night is a great excuse to make a hobby run into Lithgow and meet the crew.

One more bonus: while we’re talking tabletop battles, don’t forget we’re also a computer shop, and we’re still open for tech support as well. So if your gaming PC is acting like it’s possessed by a Chaos daemon, your laptop is running slower than a grot on a treadmill, or you just need solid advice from people who actually speak “geek,” you can get help while you’re here. Thursday night at LithGeek is where the hobby and the community meet—come in, say hi, and see how awesome Warhammer can be.
